One person, both jobs
You deal with the person who builds it
Intellimatic was founded in Shrewsbury by Evgeny Romanov. You talk to him on day one and he writes the software. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson, a project manager and a developer you never meet.
Business sense and engineering discipline
Evgeny helps you structure the problem and challenges what isn't needed. Then he builds it properly: clean, tested, documented code on proven frameworks, kept secure and up to date, so your system stays easy to change for years.
Built in the town that framed the modern factory
The Flax Mill a mile from our office was the world's first iron-framed building, in 1797. Shropshire has been rethinking how work gets done for a long time. We like the company.
Why we exist
Too many good businesses are run by talented people who feel enslaved by them. They work long hours, juggle priorities to hit deadlines and spend their evenings firefighting preventable problems, because the business depends on people doing everything by hand.
We think owners should be proud of their businesses, not trapped by them: customers delighted, staff happy to come to work, a model that runs and a venture that is profitable. Good systems are how you get there.
How Evgeny works
Evgeny Romanov founded Intellimatic in Shrewsbury to blend two skills that rarely sit in one person: the structured thinking of a business consultant and the craft of a software engineer.
He starts with the business, not the technology. Which bottleneck costs the most? How will we measure improvement? Only then does he design and build, working closely with the people who will use the system and changing direction when new information comes to light.
The engineering gets the same care as the thinking. Systems are built on established, well-supported frameworks, kept in version control, covered by automated tests where the business depends on them, documented, and maintained with regular security updates. The aim is software you own outright, which another competent developer could pick up and understand.
The systems he has built run large departments in the financial sector, optimise manufacturing operations and help plan and deliver world-class endurance events.
What we believe
- Outcomes over technologyWe talk about delivery dates, margins, hours and control. The technology is how, not why.
- Biggest gain firstRank the bottlenecks, fix the costliest, measure the result, then move on.
- Fit the businessKeep what works. Software should bend to your process, not the other way round.
- Plain EnglishNo jargon, no hype, and an honest answer when an off-the-shelf tool will do.
- AccountableYou deal with the person who builds it, from the first coffee to long after go-live.

“A system which is used all day every day and has improved operational efficiency and insight.”
We engaged Evgeny to create a bespoke piece of software for managing workflow, measuring capacity and producing MI. The project was smooth, pain free and delivered promptly. Evgeny brought many ideas for functionality over and above the brief and we were very pleased with the end result, a system which is used all day every day and has improved operational efficiency and insight.

“Intellimatic delivered on time and budget; a system that provides us with a single reliable point of truth.”
As a smaller, yet rapidly growing business, we couldn't find an off the shelf system that met our needs, but we were nervous about commissioning a bespoke solution, worrying that we didn't have the technical knowledge to specify what we needed. Evgeny's skills and insight, his business know-how, and his technical expertise immediately put us at ease. Intellimatic delivered on time and budget; a system that provides us with a single reliable point of truth eradicates the duplication of work and helps us make timely decisions based on critical data.
